Hello Volks folks,
Been awfully quiet out here, wonder whats everyone up to??
Have a simple question thats been confusing me for a long time. On page
no 63 of the Engine section of the blue bentley theres a picture of a
distributor which says that "driving dog must line up with line (arrow) running
through No 1 cylinder mark on distributor housing rim and notch in cam on drive
shaft....."
Heres my problem......All the dizzies I have.....and I do have a good
bunch of them in two or three styles that VW offered over the years.......do
not match up with this picture. All are off by a fixed amount.....about 90
Degrees if I recall right.....If I flip the dizzy dog by 180 degrees (which is
the only thing you can do with it) it still doesnt align....driven me nuts
really as to how can this be.....
Why is this???? I would be surprised if I have pointed to a mistake in the
bentley manual. Or am I wrong somewhere???? Im sure there is a logical
explanation for this...
