Hi, Chuck, West Coast Metric seems to offer the advantage of always having fresh stock -- which means they're often out-of-stock. They make up small batches, I guess. Their PVC fender welting is the only correct stuff (round profile, not teardrop) for later fenders, but it took me several weeks. I got one set -- for quarter windows -- from Bugpack and it's kept its shape well and not oxidized quickly.
Did you do an original fabric headliner on your '62 job, or change over to vinyl? I loved the flannel stuff. I'm trying to finish up a job for a customer. I put in a new headliner in his '62 Bug. It's all done except for the quarter windows. I got some Brazilian rubber on-line, and it does not want to go into the opening. I had a rough time simply stretching it around the window glass. Does anyone know of a source for "good" window rubber? I looked at West Coast Metric's web site, - they list the part, but have zero stock. It's been a while since I did any work like this, and have lost track of who's reputable these days.
