I have a 75 914 and have had numerous beetles in the past.

 From my research and experience the Bosch platinum plugs are of really poor  
quality and foul badly, basically the temperture range is all wrong.  
Apparently Bosch does make a platinum plug that is very good but it cost  
close to $30.00 per plug

The bosch Copper/Supers and some NGKs are excellent for ACVW.

There is also a triple point Bosch Copper that is very good:
