I probably shouldn't have said "shift rod" I meant the rod that stick our of the front of the transaxle, the aforementioned hockey stick. Here is a small pic (138 KB). It looks temporary to me, but I never took my transaxle out before and don't want to do anything I'll regret. Thanks.
