Hello,

       I cannot imagine why any shipper would put the shift rod bushing on
the shaft (the 'hockey stick') coming out of the gearbox/transmission. That
rod is thinner too, so may not accept the bushing due to a loose sloppy fit.

      The shift rod bushing would go on the long shift rod lever. I do not
think that this longish piece (approx 3 foot in length I believe??) would be
included with any rebuilt trans.

      I guess the plastic part is for protection during shipping only. That
said, I think it prudent to post a snap for all to see before you go around
removing anything.
