I find that using Safari on the iPhone is actually rather easy between using the rotor and gestures, or the keyboard.
However, I can get around far quicker on a Windows computer using Window-Eyes and Internet Explorer. So, for me, if I need to do a lot on the web, I'm going to take the time to boot up my Windows PC and use it. But, if it is a casual session or I only need to find a couple things on the web, the iPhone is great! I think you will find this is very much a matter of personal preference and the tasks to be accomplished. That is my two cents worth.
