Hi Craig,

You might get different views on this, but as far as I am concerned,
there is simply no question that being productive and efficient
browsing the web, finding information on web pages, filling out web
forms and so on is much easier and faster on a Windows PC with Jaws
or, for those who are very good and used to Window Eyes, maybe with
that screenreader. I can only speak for Jaws having been a PC user
with Jaws for 23 years which of course was when there really wasn't
any internet yet. I consider myself to be fairly efficient with my
iPhone as well and have had it for almost 2 years, but I am quite
confident I could do things a lot faster on my PC with Windows 7, IE 9
and Jaws 13 than anybody could on an iPhone with a bluetooth keyboard.
I also can't speak for how much better this would be on a Mac with
Safari and Voiceover, but any friends I have who are Mac and Voiceover
users I can mostly leave in the dust when it comes to doing just about
anything on the computer. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone 4S,
email works very well and is pretty good, but when it comes to typing
text fast, reviewing it, editing it by using copy, cut and paste and
all that, maybe copying text from a website into an email I am
composing where I have to jump back and forth and all that, doing it
on an iPhone doesn't even come close to how fast I can do this on the
PC.

I am probably ticking off some hardcore iOS and Mac fans with this,
but that is just my observation and I do have a few friends who have
been using a Mac with Voiceover for some years and never really used a
PC much and I am sometimes surprised about how long it takes them to
do something fairly basic like moving a file from one folder to
another, finding an email or responding to an instant message I sent
them in Skype, even hanging up a Skype call seems to be not very
straight forward because apparently unless you install some sort of
script there are no keyboard shortcuts in the Skype version for the
Mac like Alt+PageUp to answer a call or Alt+PageDown to hang up. But
on the other hand it is certainly not a really painful experience if
you have to do something online and you happen to just have your
iPhone handy, when I had my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone with MobileSpeak
doing anything online was not pretty.

Regards,
Sieghard
