True, but just to be clear, you don't need iTunes or your PC to setup your iPhone or download anD IOS update, which I think is what everyone is saying here. I didn't hook my iPhone to a PC or bring up iTunes for months after I got my iPhone. The only reason I ended up doing it is because I wanted to backup my iPhone before jail breaking it, and I didn't want to use iCloud for that. While I had it hooked up, I did also copy a bunch of music over to my iPhone, just to have it available to me when I didn't have wifi access. I know I could have used Ubuntu One Music and cached the music I wanted to download, but it seemed simple enough to just let iTunes copy over the music I wanted on my phone.
