At present, there is no app that will give you what you seek. The navigation apps are basically the same software that is contained in the stand alone GPS systems used in cars. Sendero is in colaboration with the Seeing Eye on developing an app that supposedly will be similar to the Sendero products available on other platforms. Perhaps the summer conventions will reveal something new.

Subject: Pedestrian Navigation

Greetings all,

I'm new to the group, I'm legally blind and live in Texas.

I've yet to find a GPS app that delivers reliable directions or even orientation for blind pedestrians. I saw Ariadne referenced in Apple's recent keynote but know nothing about it. I met the developer of LookTel's forthcoming Breadcrumbs app at NFB and I'm really excited about that. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

~Seth~
