Look for the apps:- ubidisk, phonedrive.

There's probably more, and not checked out the latest versions for continued
accessibility. They have a tendency to break it.

But they're the sort of thing that offers file management as we know it,
and does offer ftp and http access over wifi for file transfer. I liked it
better than Dropbox for sure.

But the files are only the data part of the app, and given how much that
can be, it is something to exclude from iCloud backup.

But at least I could double tap on a file and open it, read it, play it and
so on. And other options like copy, move and generally sort your files
around in the app.

Understand: you do Not get access to the folder structure of iOs and the
system, or data of any other app.

Subject: Exploring Files and Folders in iOS?

Hi folks.

I'm a new iPhone user with tons of previous Windows experience. On
the PC, I'm used to being able to explore the folders and files in
Windows Explorer.

Is there a way to do that on the iPhone?

Related question: what's the best way to simply move files and
folders to and from the iPhone, preferably over WIFI? Dropbox?
iTunes? Something else?

thanks

Chris
