Hi Donald, That is what "carrier locked" or "unlocked" means. If you buy any used smartphone whether iPhone or Android, you have to make sure it is either from the carrier you use or that it is unlocked. An unlocked phone will work with any carrier (as long as it supports their frequencies/system).
