I heard some of them may work for AT&T or TMobile, but as of the last time I
searched, Sprint wouldn't unlock the domestic sim use period on old phones
like the iPhone 4S, so third parties couldn't either unless someone truely
had some pull with Sprint who could submit such a request to Apple to have
done. I was checking in to it to make my old 4S more valuable to sell but I
figured I would probably get scammed and not end up getting it successfully
unlocked.

Do not use a third-party service, there are lot of scammers out there and

How did you unlock your iPhone? Did you go through AT&T or whatever carrier
you have, or did you use a third party unlocking service? I need to unlock
a phone before I go overseas, because I can't afford international roaming.
I prefer to buy and use a local sim card with a local number overseas.
