Hi Jewel,

I guess this is just terminology, maybe Apple should call it "History" or "Call
Log", but basically Recents shows all incoming and outgoing calls and they stay
in there forever unless you clear it occasionally. Near the top are two tabs
where you can select to display either "All" calls or only "Missed" calls.
I have long been hoping for Apple to add some more filters here since it would
be nice if I could display only incoming calls or only outgoing calls or, for
that matter, maybe I want to see just Facetime calls or calls to a particular
area code or phone number/person. The latter could be achieved by simply adding
a search box at the top.
Anyhow, you can easily delete calls from the recent call list. You can delete
individual calls simply by swiping down or up with one finger since the action
rotor is available here and then double tap or you can tap on "Edit" at the top
right and then "Clear All" at the top left.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: A strange concept of what constituteS * recen

I use the phone feature on my iPhone very little but a few nights ago when I
had made one of my very rare calls, I happened to notice "recents" and wondered
what might be in there that I could delete, and there were calls going back to
April 2015 which is when I first got the thing. One year seems a very liberal
interpretation of recent!

Indeed it is Daren; here’s how you do it:

1) Of course, have the Recents tab in the phone app in focus.
2) Locate the entry you desire.
3) Find and double tap the “More Info” button immediately after the desired
phone number.
4) Depending on whether you want to create an entirely new contact or simply
add the selected number to an existing contact double click the appropriate
number.

That will place you into an edit dialog for the new or existing contact.
