Donna, Just my own speculation here, since Apple ultimately has the power on deciding these things. Since the iPhone 5 or newer is supported this year with iOS 10, my random guess would be that the 5S will be around until 2018 or thereabouts. As said before though, Appple could jump from the 5 to the 6 next year in the oldest model supported, one never knows. I thought that last year would be the final year of the 5S. However, if the iPhone 7 comes out this fall, then the 6/6 Plus would be the "free" phone this year.
