No … setup is not possible at all, and neither is advanced features such as programming a schedule.
You can set the heating/cooling mode, and the temperature; you can see the temperature and humidity, and you can turn on/off the fan. Some of the advanced settings are sort of accessible, once you have a sighted person help you understand the layout at first, as these screens in the app are labeled with a lot of buttons which just say ?on/off”, but you cannot tell which setting they pertain to. Finally, there are times when the thermostat cannot connect to wifi, or is having some other error condition, and these errors are displayed only on the thermostat itself, and you cannot get to them via the app. So, it’s ok if you have a roommate/partner or neighbor who could help you in these situations, but I cannot recommend it to a person who is blind, and doesn’t have easy access to sighted help. Anyhow, I still got a $760 rebate on a total bill of a bit over $4,000 and while I had hoped for a bit more it’s at least about 18% and the new LED fixtures are brighter, put out a nicer light and of course there is no more florescent hum, they are totally silent.
