No doubt I would choose anything over Blind Square. It uses map data for
near-by intersections and road names from a free map service named Open Street
Maps, and it’s quite inaccurate for my area, and for areas which are currently
undergoing various updates or construction. BS only gets an update of these
free maps once a year, and free gets you what you pay for of course.

Also, BS requires you have a cell data signal for it to work, and if you don’t,
then it doesn’t; while NE has downloadable maps.

Subject: which one would you choose, Blind square or nearby explorer and why?

Hi folks,

I have quite few GPS apps on my iPhone. But none of them is specifically
designed with the blind users in mind. Nonetheless, apps like maps, Navigan,
and google maps are very accessible. But if you want to get only one app
designed with the blind users in mind, which one would you choose? If you have
to choose between blind square and nearby explorer, for example, which of the
two would you choose and why?

Cheers,

Cris
