First, let me say that both applications are very good, but if I could
only have one, it would be nearby explorer, no question. There are a
few reasons, first, it offers turn by turn guidance, second, it's much
more responsive in speaking updates, for example, when you change
direction, unless you disable it, your new direction of travel and
upcoming street are automatically spoken within a few seconds.

I have quite few GPS apps on my iPhone. But none of them is
specifically designed with the blind users in mind. Nonetheless, apps
like maps, Navigan, and google maps are very accessible. But if you
want to get only one app designed with the blind users in mind, which
one would you choose? If you have to choose between blind square and
nearby explorer, for example, which of the two would you choose and why?
