I don't know if Apple is the most profitable company in the world. Maybe 
they are. And market sure in the long run is not totally irrelevant. But 
divorced from profit, marketshare is a relevant. And so much of the android 
fan base out there seems to think that marketshare trumps all and the 
profitability is a relevant. They're always these fans of my articles out 
there trumpeting the end of Apple. And it hasn't happened yet. As long as 
Apple can keep Bies happy and keep growing the base to the extent that it 
needs to order to keep its profits up there and it's stock price up there, 
it will do great. And it really doesn't matter in terms of marketshare 
worldwide, how much that is. That's all I'm saying. Obviously, if you're 
trying to sell a product and nobody wants to buy it, you're done. But the 
issue here between android and Apple has always been market share. The 
android fan voice say, look how small apples worldwide market share is. But 
it doesn't matter, as long as the people who like apple keep buying it and 
making apple big bunches of money, and as long as there are new people 
coming into the system who think Apple's products are worth the high prices 
they charge. That means Apple App Store profits are up, developers are 
happy, and life goes on. In that sense, marketshare is not relevant.

I'm not sure why we're arguing about Apple's profitability though. They 
are a very profitable company. I don't think this means they can ignore 
market share though or stop listening to their customers. I will say 
though that they must be doing a lot of things right, and they aren't 
going to stray from their core principles that made them the wealthiest 
company in the world.

along with all other Apple iPhones. That is a huge drawback to Android,
and Google knows it. They're taking steps to fix it, but I remain
skeptical as to how successful they might be. I'm not saying android is
bad. And I think it's great that there are phones in many price ranges.
But what I am saying is that it is a simple matter of provable fact as
acknowledge in the technical and financial press that Apple makes the
vast majority of profit in the smart phone industry. You can love it or
leave it but you can't change it. And marketshare has absolutely nothing
to do with it.

It doesn’t make sence. Yes, a lot of people is leaving IOs and are
moving to android. You should try it, is much better. However I should
recommend  that don’t buy a cheap android phone. Try to buy a nexus
6p, or a pixel phone. They are great.

Well, apparently not too many people are moving away. Apple is making
most of the money in this industry. There are many people who make
android devices. Most of them make no profit. Companies don't stay in
business forever if they don't make a profit.

   I am not sure if Apple could keep their walled garden concept and
   offer SD card expansion slots. If you allow people to introduce
   media on an SD card then the OS must have access to the folders or
   maybe it would be more accurate to say that Apple would have to
   give users access to what is on the SD card and that would
   possibly defeat the purpose of the closed nature of the platform.
   Any SD card, even the newest and fastest, would also introduce a
   lot of latency in how fast things get loaded and I think this all
   goes against what Apple wants to achieve. I think actually that
   even some high-end Android phones are moving away from that, but I
   might be wrong, just something I heard. Does the Google Pixel for
   example have an SD card slot? Lastly, having such an expansion
   slot on an iPad is one thing because there is probably plenty of
   space, but having it on an iPhone is most likely not very
   practical as there hardly is any space left as is and of course
   making a highly waterproof or water resistant device would
   probably be much more difficult if the device had an SD card slot
   Personally I have no problem with Apple offering internal memory,
   I totally agree that nowadays 16 Gb doesn’t get you far, but I
   wonder how many people still buy 16 Gb devices if they can get a
   64 Gb device (4 times the space) for $100 more.

   I don’t agree.  Granted, the 300 dollar price tag is nice, but not
   with the memory it’s offering.



   I think the 32 and 16 models of any device is outdated, unless
   it’s got an expansion slot for an SD card.



   Frankly, I’m completely surprised that Apple hasn’t embraced this
   concept, since it would enable them to lower the amount of ROM
   memory on the device, and allow people to expand according to
   their budget.  Alas, it would seem that Apple is destined not to
   ever get the message.

       starting March 24 in the U.S. and more than 20 other countries
       and regions. The iPhone (RED) models will be available in
       128GB and 256GB models starting at $749 from March 24. Apple
       also announced new storage capacity for the iPhone SE. That
       4-inch display model will now be available in 32GB and 128GB
       models, doubling the current capacity and replacing the
