That depends a bit on your lifestyle and whether you care if after 2 or 3 years when you might want to sell your iPhone the screen is pristine or has a bunch of little scratches and dings. Same goes for putting the iPhone in a case, I guess you probably don’t do this either, but I for one do drop my phone from time to time, I use it in my woodworking shop, I use it crosscountry and downhill skiing, horseback riding, hiking, canoeing and I have taken an almost 2-minute video going down a zipline in the Philippines. A good part of this zipline ride went over a small bay of the ocean so had I dropped the phone at that time no case or screen protector would have done a thing since the phone would have simply vanished, but nonetheless to me caring for my stuff sometimes means protecting it and being careful isn’t always enough. If you mostly use it at home maybe it is enough, but if you use it in all sorts of weird situations then a bit of extra protection can go a long way.

Hi malcolm, Yes, I think using a good and well-installed screen protector is a good thing. It will prevent yoru screen from getting all those little scratches and dings it can get and if you get one of the glass ones which are totally the ones I recommend a screen protector can spread out the force of any impact if you ever drop it. I don’t like the plastic ones, they usually make the screen less slippery, some people like this but I like to be able to slide my finger around easily. I bought a glass screen protector at an Apple Store just over a year ago. The girl at the Apple Store installed it for me and while at first it felt a bit dull and less slippery, a couple of days of use fixed that and now you can’t even tell the difference, it’s still perfectly applied and I really like it. Hello, I have never used a screen protector with any of my iPhones but my friends all use them. They are not VoiceOver users so I was wondering whether there would be any point in getting one for my iPhone7. What impact do they have on the usability of the iPhone from a VoiceOver perspective? Any observations and recommendations welcome. Malcolm -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
