i have owned an iPhone since 2009 and have never felt the need for a screen protector. It's called taking care of your property.

I don’t like the plastic ones, they usually make the screen less slippery, some people like this but I like to be able to slide my finger around easily. I bought a glass screen protector at an Apple Store just over a year ago. The girl at the Apple Store installed it for me and while at first it felt a bit dull and less slippery, a couple of days of use fixed that and now you can’t even tell the difference, it’s still perfectly applied and I really like it.
