Hi alan, It sounds like the mic was off during the recording. To turn it on, press hard on the Screen Recording button if you have 3D Touch, or double-tap and hold it, flick to Open Controls, and double-tap. You'll be able to turn the mic on on the screen that opens. Once it's on, it should be on for all future recordings unless you turn it off.
