As I said in another message, I will be delighted if I am wrong about the following. If one has any books saved in Kindle or Bard, they will not restore from iClouth and will have to be downloaded again, they will be restored from an encrypted backup. Also, any books in Voice Dream will not restore from ICloud, unless the iCloud storage feature in Voice Dream is enabled first. I hope Winston has gotten that feature to be more reliable now than it once was, I have read many threads about how people's libraries got all messed up by it. Again, it very well may be all right now. Any other books, such as those in Learning Ally will not restore from iCloud, but should from an encrypted backup. Finally, I know that music is not backed up in ICloud. Your music library from Apple Music is there, but not any downloads. Any music on your device from cd's on your hard drive that were on the device will not be restored in an ICloud backup. If none of these things matter, then an ICloud backup is fine. An ICloud backup surely is better than nothing, if something goes wrong with your device when you are not near your home computer and you have to restore it.
