Screen curtain doesn't save any battery. With an LCD display, the entire
display is backlit so it consumes just as much energy whether it's dark
or not. It may be the case that the new OLED displays, at least new to
Apple, will save some battery when dark, but since the XR, which uses an
LCD display, has better battery life then the XS, which uses an OLED
display, this doesn't seem to be the case, at least for now.
Screen dimming will save some battery life, and as someone recently
pointed out on list, your iPhone will dim the screen if you have screen
curtain on, so my first paragraph could just be an exercise in splitting
hairs.

sure how much and if it would make a considerable difference. I use
screen curtain when in public and don’t want on-lookers to see what I
am doing on my phone. I use it mainly for privacy.
