Keith,

I'm not normally a fan of insurance for electronics since I'm extremely careful
with my items and don't feel I get value for my insurance money. However, my
iPhone is the exception to that rule. Since I'm always using my iPhone and it's
constantly in motion, the opportunity for it to be accidentally damaged seems a
real risk that justifies the insurance cost. Whether you get a better value by
adding the phone to your homeowner's policy as Sieghard suggests or through
Apple Care you'll have to determine. I chose to get Apple Care for the 3
iPhones I've bought new and was certainly glad I did for my iPhone 5. The
headphone jack on it went out and I was given a new replacement phone at the
Apple Store thanks to the Apple Care coverage. It sounds as if they don't do
this anymore without some sort of charge but I've still been buying the
coverage. I like the ability to call them with questions for the extra year the
coverage gets you.

Good luck with your decision.

Subject: To AppleCare or not....that is the question

Hi,

I have always routinely purchased AppleCare, but have never really had any
reason to use it.

I still have a few weeks before the deadline for purchasing AppleCare for my XS.

I’m curious how others on this list are viewing AppleCare.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Best, Keith
