I would go with the 10R, because it is entirely likely it will get more upgrades in the future than eight. Face ID will take some getting used to. And there are certain scenarios, such as the one mentioned by someone who responded earlier, that you can’t do with the Face ID phone. But since that seems to be all the Apple is making going forward, you might as will get used to it and have longer upgradability.
