I upgraded from my 7 to an XR, and while I do not regret the change, if I were doing it again, I would probably get an 8. I really like the improved speakers from the 7, but the 8 also has improved volume from the 7. As a Voiceover user, I really miss being able to discreetly check my phone with my headset on and my phone in my pocket. Even more than that, I miss being able to reach over to my bedside table and control my phone without having to pick it up. These are minor inconveniences, but the things that bother me.
