I also get it and never turn on automatic updates. I might not get it the minute a update is available but it will show. I don’t have automatic updates on for one very good reason. If an update breaks accessibility you have no way to go back.

My phone will say there are so many updates available. Then i go in to the app store, and do a 3 finger swipe down, to refresh the page, which can bring up even more, if they are available.
