I recently helped a family member sign up at a Verizon store for
pre-pay service. After the first month, which inclujded a set up fee
of $10 or so, it is $30.30 for unlimited calls and text, and 1GB of
data even though the rep said it would be 500 MB.
I personally use Visible.com. Go to their website and they only offer
one plan and it is described very clearly. Also read reviews to make
sure you can live with the very slight drawbacks. I love the
service and only pay $25 monthly for unlimited calls, text, data and
hotspot. It uses the Verizon network.
