Rather interestingly, I have an Anker power bank here with a USB A output and the specification of its output is:
5V⎓3A, 9V⎓2A, 12V⎓1.5A (PowerIQ 2.0) So we see it will output 9 Volts at 2 Amps which gives us 18 Watts. Now my USB power bank also outputs 9 Volts at 2 Amps again 18 Watts. Here’s the interesting part. The USB C charger will charge my iPhone from flat to 50% in half an hour. The USB A power pack charges to around 32% in the same time. So although both power packs claim 18 Watts output using a USB A to lightning cable the iPhone does not accept 18 Watts of charge but with a USB C to lightning cable it does.
