Thanks, Richard. No later than tomorrow morning, I’ll post what I learned by tweeting Verizon using a direct message. I encourage everyone to get a Twitter account and start considering it for getting support where phone or email support seems nonexistent.

I found this: Do i need a new sim card for 5g Verizon You don’t need a new sim card for 5g if you’re a Verizon user, your sim card should work in a 5G mobile phone except if your sim card is outdated and too old. This was the statement from Verizon when I inquired if a user can use any sim card other than the 5g sim card in a 5G mobile phone. However, as long as you have a sim card that worked with the 4G LTE network, it should work in a 5G phone as well. Again they stated that if a user’s 4G sim card didn’t work in a 5G phone, then the user should head over to any <https://www.verizon.com/> Verizon store and get a new 5G sim card for the phone. Good luck with your new iPhone. I'm certainly in no hurry to order a new iPhone but I'm a big believer in doing the research and knowing the answer before getting hit with an unexpected fee. You should not be charged a fee to replace one iPhone with another on the same mobile phone plan in my opinion. I'm sure both the SE 2020 and the iPhone 13 use a nano SIM card but I'm a bit unclear about how 5G affects the use of older SIM cards. I'll know later today, fingers crossed, my new iPhone is supposed to arrive today. Also, I'm going with a friend to the local Verizon corporate store tomorrow to help her buy probably a 12 pro. I can ask the Verizon staff person then I'm sure. I know from my working days that if you go to a Verizon store that is a "reseller" they will try and ding you for all kinds of stuff. We took a client to one of those resellers, and they wanted $20 for a sim card. We then went a bit out of our way to the corporate store, where not only was the sim card free; but they took care of the setup with no activation fee. That was about 3 years ago. You probably will have to have them activate the new phone or perhaps not activate, but associate the sim card with the new phone so they don't think you are running an SE 2020 still. I'll see what I can find out. They’ve taken this automated response thing to a new low in my opinion. I must have tried sending a text chat three or four times and I always get some automated response saying my message was not understood and in effect directing me to another option to submit my question which seems more like a merry go round than any sort of support. I’ll ask my question here. I’m considering purchasing a new iPhone to replace my SE 2020 being used on my Verizon Prepaid account. If I’m buying this new iPhone directly from Apple, what do I need to do to avoid a Verizon activation fee? In the past, I’ve simply moved my SIM card from my old phone to my new phone but I’m not sure if this can be done when going from an SE 2020 to an iPhone 13. Thanks in advance for any help.
