Richard, I find that you need to be close to the Wi-Fi router in order to use it. That is part of the delay. It shouldn't be more than 10 seconds of a Joe delay. And as far as the drop in thing, yeah that would work better if you were away from home. I thought you guys were just wanting something to be able to communicate throughout a property that might have the same Wi-Fi net work.
