You guys, since she's also a T-Mobile customer, she can also download the digits app and it is accessible and she can also use that to make phone calls from her XR. And you don't have to pay for an additional phone line.

My understanding is that Wi-Fi calling is a feature that allows you to use your personal or other wireless networks to route calls to your carrier, in lieu of a cellular connection. Once you transfer service to a new device, and you don’t have cellular service on that old device, This will likely not work. You should still be able to use non-cellular communication options, like FaceTime, WhatsApp, Signal, etc. because those do not rely on services from your carrier. I called T-Mobile, and I asked them about this, they said they don’t see that I ever had a XR phone with them. I explained I had a XR phone for 6 years with them, and matter of fact, I told them I’ve been with them as my phone carrier for 20 years. So, after the rep kept putting me on hold, he finally told me they will need to turn on the Wi-Fi from their end and that will take 24 hours, and he told me that last Thursday.
