The Zoom H1, H4, and H6 Essential hand held recorders have spoken menus and do a very good job recording. The H1 is the least expensive at about $99. Jonathan Mosen did detailed reviews on his podcast a year or two ago. Many of the Olympus models also have spoken menus.
They both use triple A batteries. I think the Zoom H1 Essential comes with rechargeable batteries but I'm not sure. Regular Triple A batteries give it 8 or 10 hours of recording time. Depending on the iPhone model you have the Voice Memos app does an excellent job as well.
