Richarrd,
a good tip but I ask Siri to do likewise and so far so good.

Yes, in the Alexa app, not on the box.
Ta da! I just figured out how to use the swipe left to delete.
Do a one finger triple tap and hold, when you hear the tritone, slide left,
lift your finger and do a quick flick right, a delete button magically appears,
double tapping it deletes that notification.
I vaguely remember having done that somewhere else and it just came back to me.

Honest, no. I have not called Amazon. I have had such consistently
unsatisfactory results when doing so at least with respect to anything having
to do with e Accessibility, I sort of gave up on them. I’ve had bad experiences
with that for years.
When you say you ask Alexa to delete the notifications, I assume you mean the
box, not within the app? Or did you mean the Alexa in the app? The other thing
is, the instruction to swipe left to get rid of the notification an absolute in
accessibility thing. And I’ve seen other things where they tell you to swipe
left to get rid of stuff. If you’re using VoiceOver you can’t do that so there
should be an alternative, such as double tapping holding and bringing up a menu
or something and having delete in there or the action button.

Two things.
Have you tried asking Alexa to delete your notifications?
Also, have you tried calling Amazon? This seems really overly complicated. I
looked at it too, and while it deleted some notifications when I told it to,
there seems to always be some new ones.
I like having package deliveries on, but it is difficult at best to sort out
how the heck you can limit them...

When you open the app, on the first screen, near the top, there’s a row of
icons. Notifications is one of those icons, next to user profile, which is the
furthest to the right. Devices is up there too I think. Can’t remember now.
Maybe if you don’t have any, it doesn’t show up that notifications icon. I just
looked again, and mine now says One new. But I have no idea how to get rid of
all the other ones that are still there which are not new.

Where did you find this reference?

I have no idea how to do this. It says swipe left to delete notification when
you’re in your list of notifications. Well that doesn’t work, because with
VoiceOver on, swiping left just move to the previous item. There is no actions
announced as available and no actions button anywhere and double tapping and
holding to maybe bring up some kind of context menu where there might be a
delete doesn’t work either. So does anybody know how a voiceover user is
supposed to get rid of these notifications, most of which I don’t want and
don’t really even know how they got there. I don’t want everything I say to
this stupid device showing up and notifications. The only reason I looked was
because I had it send a recipe there. And then I see all this other crap.
Anyway, if somebody can please inform me what the magic is to get all this
notification stuff to go away and preferably never show up unless I
specifically ask it to be sent there, I would be very grateful.
