My question is this. Which of the various GPS programs store the map
info on the phone rather than retrieving it each time from the internet?
I am especially interested in programs which announce the names of
streets as they are crossed or approached. Ariadne and blind square come
to mind.
What I hope to do is to load the map info via wifi since I have no cell
service on my 3-GS, and of course the ipod doesn't have cell data
capability. Then if my understanding is correct, I should be able to
take either my 3-GS or my Ipod fifth generation out and about using GPS.
