I totally understand that. It just seemed to me that there are uniform ways of making things accessible—i.e., labeling buttons and graphics, reporting the state of alterable controls such as checkboxes and radio buttons, etc. I didn't really understand why programers would make their stuff specifically work with a certain screen reader.
