Perhaps a paragraph option would be nice, though my rotor is already hopelessly crowded. Still, the method I suggested doesn't require the rotor. Maybe a page down function?

When you are talking about hundreds of lines then sure, I agree that this would be a challenge, but then again I do have a computer and while my iPhone is awesome and I can do lots of things with it, some things are still done more efficiently on the computer and I would hazard a guess and say that this holds true even for sighted people.
