On the topic of using user manuals, don't forget that the vast majority of them are not written for the blind community (EG: there's lots of translations into other languages that one must skip past, there are pictures we cannot reference, there is screwed up OCR, many can't be saved to text from PDF, etc). This of course means an added layer of experimentation to access the information, so I really, really appreciate the person who has done all the reading and experimenting and is simply conveying their knowledge via recorded podcast as they are showing the blind user that the product or process being demonstrated can be completed by a blind person, or at the very least they demonstrate difficulties one can expect--this kind of information you cannot get from a user manual primarily written for the sighted. For anyone who has ever typed a long explanatory procedure, I think he or she will agree that simply recording and demonstrating one's ideas is much faster and easier to do.
