true, and I'm not sure what message or thread you're replying to, but I
was talking about Jonathan Mosen's new book on IOS 7 as well as other
materials and books you might purchase from places like NBP. These are
books or references or tutorials written and produced especially for the
blind user.

On the topic of using user manuals, don't forget that the vast majority of
them are not written for the blind community (EG: there's lots of
translations into other languages that one must skip past, there are
pictures we cannot reference, there is screwed up OCR, many can't be saved
to text from PDF, etc). This of course means an added layer of
experimentation to access the information, so I really, really appreciate
the person who has done all the reading and experimenting and is simply
conveying their knowledge via recorded podcast as they are showing the blind
user that the product or process being demonstrated can be completed by a
blind person, or at the very least they demonstrate difficulties one can
expect--this kind of information you cannot get from a user manual primarily
written for the sighted. For anyone who has ever typed a long explanatory
procedure, I think he or she will agree that simply recording and
demonstrating one's ideas is much faster and easier to do.
