How did you update your iPhone, and are you talking about backups on your PC or in iCloud?

I'm pretty sure if I do an over the air update, I won't be replacing my last encrypted backup on my PC.

As I recall, last time I did an update the message came up that the update
process was also performing a backup. That seems to me that even if you
backup 100 times, the last one on file that you will be able to reach is the
one that the update process provides.

That said, I intend to do an encrypted backup before I perform the update,
but doing several before the update seems to me to be something that will
make you feel better but in reality it will be supplanted by the copy the
update process creates.

I haven't heard that you need to do anything, either through any information
from Apple, news feeds or in chatting to IOS 7 beta users. I think all you
need is a good backup.

I am asking this question only because IOS-7 is so different. I have never
had a probblem upgrading the phone with wifi. Is there anything I need to do
with the phone to prepare it for IOS-7? I know a backup would be mportant,
but is there anything else?
