Every now and then, my focus moves to home in the app switcher when I am closing apps with the 3 finger swipe up. However, swiping to the right usually moves me to the next app in the sequence and then I can go back to the 3 finger swipe up to close. Wish there was a gesture to close all running apps at once, but oh well.
