LOL! I'm not sure I followed all of that Sieghard!

My suspicion is that it's just a nuisance bug in voiceOver. The three finger swipe right is advancing a page, so VoiceOver is reading some page information from somewhere, even though it doesn't necessarily make sense in this context. Unless there's a secret here to some new hidden feature, I'm not worrying about it.

BTW, I agree with you way more than I don't Sieghard! In fact, I have to scratch my head quite a bit whenever I do disagree with you assuming I must be missing something.

I guess you could argue this way, but you could also argue that the lock
screen is more like an area and that all other home pages are like an area,
hence 1 of 1 and 2 of 1. Of course then you could say why can I not lock my
phone by swiping right to left from the first home screen. But maybe it's
just terminology. The Canadian weather app Degrees can, for example, display
the current or felt like temperature on the badge icon. However, Apple
places restrictions on what can be displayed, so first of all it can't
display a negative number if it is below 0 and second, the temperature reads
the same way as apps in a folder would. For example, if it is 5 degrees,
Voiceover would say "Degrees, 5 new items". Well, that also doesn't mean I
have 5 things in the Degrees app. Not an exact comparison, but I just said
it to point out that sometimes certain wording give us certain expectations.
In your case you have 3 home pages so you would expect it to say "1 of 4,
but then if you swipe left to right to unlock Voiceover would not say 1 of 2
but 2 of 4 and that is not right either because once you unlock this first
screen, the lock screen is gone and you have your 3 home pages only.
OK, Christopher, now why don't you just say "Hmm, this makes sense in a way"
and agree with me just this once, it would really make for a good end of a
pretty good Monday *smile*

Take care,
Sieghard

Well, it doesn't seem too elementary to me. As far as I can tell, I have
only one lock screen. I have three home pages, so I'm still not sure why I
hear one of two pages when I unlock my phone by swiping three fingers from
left to right. Are you saying I should think of my first home page as my
second lock screen? This still seems like a strange announcement to me.

Just think of the lock screen as page 1 of 2 in this context, if you
don't have a passcode set and swipe left to right you are unlocking
the screen at the same time as you are swiping to your first home page
which is page 2 of 2. Elementary, dear Watson...

I noticed after upgrading to iOS 7.02 on my iPhone 4 that I, too, get
the announcement of page 1 of 2. However, A have more than 2 screens
of apps. I just assumed this was a querk of the new iOS.

Hi Christopher,
When I do the three finger swipe from right to left I just get a bong
sound which I think indicates that there is no other page. I did
not see and 1 of 2 pages at the bottom. So that make me wonder why
when I unlock my IPad and go to the home page it says one of two.
Might that be a glitch in IOS 7?

Ed.

I'm not sure if it's any different on an iPad or not, but on an
iPhone, you can just do a three finger swipe from right to left to
get to your second page. You should also see an item at the bottom,
right above the dock, that says something like 1 of 2 pages,
adjustable item. If you double tap this, it'll take you to your second
page.

Hi,

When I unlock my IPad and it goes to the home page VO says one of two.
For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get to the second page.
First of all I just upgraded my IPad to IOS 7 and Have not added any
apps yet. So I don't know if I for sure would have a second page
but that is what VO stated. Anyone have and ideas about this?
