Very interesting... perhaps the major iTunes revisions like changing from version 10 to 11 are critical; but perhaps the incremental updates aren't that significant. Perhaps some others with experience will chime in re this. Thanks for the help- I'll go ahead with iTunes update. Cher

If you update iTunes then IOS 7.0.3 will still work. Sometimes you have to update iTunes in order for it to work with newer versions of IOS. For example, I couldn't update to IOS 7 until I updated iTunes first.
