Interesting... I'm still running iTunes 11.0.1 or whatever is before the .2 version that came out a few days ago. I updated the 5C phone to 7.03 with that older iTunes version. JFW can't read the 'about' in the iTunes Help menu, so am going by memory on the previous version number here. It seems that both of you are saying that iTunes won't let you do it 'wrong' according to them, anyway. Is that correct? Cher

No, that's not necessarily true. I was already running iTunes 11 when IOS 7 came out, and I still had to update to a dot release of iTunes 11 before I could install IOS 7 from iTunes. I suspect that the iTunes updates that come out around major announcements will probably be required if you're going to use a new device or update to a major release of IOS, since there are features in those new devices and new versions of IOS that will require updates to iTunes.
