I have done encrypted backups, but when I chose 'restore from backup' after
upgrading my phone, there was nowhere to write in the password. Where/how do
you restore from an encrypted backup? Thanks.

Subject: Re: Updates- update IOS before iTunes?

When I upgraded from IOS 6 to IOS 7, I used iTunes. I wanted to grab an
encrypted backup before I started the upgrade, so it was already connected
to my PC. Once I started the upgrade through iTunes, I had a lot more
feedback on the status of the upgrade through iTunes then I get when I
upgrade over the air. I also don't think you need as much free space on your
phone as you do when you do a over the air update.
