That's funny you mentioning apps. My wife has maybe 3 apps that didn't come with her iPad Air. This morning the alarm I forgot to cancel on my iPad went off and she picked up my iPad to turn it off and noticed I had 6 hole pages full of apps. What do you need 6 pages of apps for she said. Good thing she hasn't seen my iPhone with it's 9 pages of apps. Wouldn't want the good woman to have a heart attack here! I tried to explained that apps are like tools. They let you do things. So why do they call them apps? Apps is a fancy way of saying applications or what use to be called programs. Then she understood. Another mystery solved! Just thought I'd share because I know there are some folks out there with 10, 15, or even 20 pages or more of apps.

Alan

I believe that the battery drain issues are unique to certain devices. Many
of us are not experiencing problems with it while others are. My wife's
iPhone 5 goes through battery fairly quickly and she doesn't use it much.
She has most apps set to not refresh in the background except for GPS which
she seldom ever uses. In fact, she has installed only about 7 apps on her
phone as she uses her iPad for most things. She does not use VO.

I, on the other hand use my phone for just about everything including games,
GPS, streaming, books, and many other things. I can go a whole day on a
battery and most days still have about 30% remaining when I plug it in at
night. I too have the iPhone 5 and I use VO.

I'm not experiencing any battery drain with my iPhone 5s, my iPhone 4 or my
iPad air. The 5s and the air deliver around 10 or so hours leaving the
phone on all the time. The iPad is shut down fully when not in use and so
it's battery can last several days just doing email and some web browsing.

I still am inclined to think that the battery drain is related to the new
voice over. I have been reading a book with iBooks, and the battery drains
in a few hours. If that is the problem, I don't know how they will resolve
it.

Hi Corey, just switch of your phone, when it says battery low, and switch it
on after atleast 12 hours to 15 hours, it will be surely alright, then you
must be careful not to keep the back ground applications running, see that
you be careful. It happens sometimes with these electronics I too had the
same problem when I used IPod Touch and nokia phones. Just don't get
discouraged, do as I told you. Ruby

Has anyone at all found anything to stop the constant battery draining in
7.1?
I am charging my phone between 2 and 3 times aday lately. I have turned off
background app refresh and am even running the phone on 0 brightness.
I am on the verge of doing a complete wipe and setting it up as a new phone
but really don't want to do that.
