Same here and I don't think Apple has listened to me either even though
they seemed keen to help me out with any feedback or bugs I have sent to
them. Obviously not going to be specific until release day.

I have been testing also, and I must agree wholeheartedly. It really is sad,
Apple is really slipping these days. we certainly don't need to be rude, but we
do need to be as forceful as possible. We need to be loud, and we need to draw
attention to the fact that these things are being ignored. I would almost be
willing to go so far as to say that Apple should apologize, and reaffirm their
commitment to the voiceover user. they may be approaching a very slippery
slope, and it would be in everyone's best interest to avoid such a fall off.

A very positive article, what it unfortunately does not mention is that iOS 8
at this time (the Goldmaster or release version) has the most Voiceover issues
of any release and some of these are not just little things like Voiceover
saying “Screen Locked” twice which it did for a long time after iOS 7 was
released.
I have been running the iOS 8 Beta since June and as far as I can tell Apple
has listened to hardly any of the feedback and bug reports provided by blind
beta testers. There have been 5 Beta versions and now the Goldmaster and almost
all of the most serious and annoying bugs are still there. I hope that they
react faster once the public release happens next Wednesday and hopefully blind
people start flooding Apple Accessibility with emails and phone calls about
these issues.
I will post a list of the 5 or so bugs which bug me the most and which I know
other beta testers have reported as soon as the iOS 8 update comes out. Anybody
who wants to read about them just look for a post on Wednesday, September 17
with subject “The top 5 most annoying bugs in iOS 8 with Voiceover”.
What bothers me is that a few of these issues are not specifically
accessibility related and they don’t happen if Voiceover is not running but as
soon as Voiceover is on you suddenly are plagued by this and that.

Sieghard
