I thought I would give an update on my problem. I did a backup and restore this morning. Money reader still does not work. In fact, after I open it, my whole phone seems to be sluggish. That particular app must be corrupted somehow. By the way, I was restored to IOS 8.
I’m going to investigate new phones today. Thanks all for your suggestions.
