Actually, not all the voiceover users have these problems either. I updated today and I am amazed how smoothly the transition has gone. I have had basically no problems. None of my apps got moved to other places as some have said would happen. I get all the tones when I dial a call. I don't have any crashes, and I could go on and on. The one bug I do have is the one in setting the RingTones and as people have said on the list, there is a simple way to avoid this. I too complained about the bugs in the first release, but many of them have been squashed. Obviously some people have not found this so, and I am sorry that they are having trouble.
I will say this. If everyone on the list who has loudly complained about bugs have submitted a report to Apple about said bug, they are more likely to be fixed than if people simply complain on this list. It's one thing to point out problems so we are all aware of them, but it's yet another to keep on harping on the fact that it was not perfect to begin with. I hear you. So did Apple. So, we can either complain about the fact that it was not perfect right out of the gate, or we can applaud the progress they have made in fixing the bugs that have been fixed. Alternatively, Apple could have just put out a OS with fewer bugs in the first place. I agree working this hard to get these issues fixed is good, but it isn't as good as not having to fix so much in the first place. I'm still facing a lot of the same bugs I saw when IOS 8 was initially released almost two months ago. Getting updates out is good, but not getting notifications or having my phone start chattering away in a meeting even though I have the mute switch on, is getting pretty annoying, especially when you consider how much I paid for this device, which is exactly what my sighted counterparts payed, and they don't seem to be having these problems. BTW, it isn't the carriers that have to add support for their devices and push out Android updates to their handsets, it's the hand set manufacturers that have to do this. Sometimes a carrier may logo a device from an OEM and muddy this distinction a bit though.
