I did not read whole thread, but when operator is not logged on, you should be able to access its disk rw from another id, send the file of interest to another id (or operator so its in the reader), delete stuff that is not needed.... detach disk and then re-start operator?

I doubt that any of you are the Thick one here. Our Operator is running
in CP. When I try to IPL CMS to get it into CMS I get 191 full and so
I can't get the Operator into CMS to do an erase. So I am guessing we
need to backup 191 and reformat and restore all but the file I want to
erase?
